An evening of singing classic German hymns in German
Tuesday 15th September 2026 7-9pm
We returned for a third evening of singing classic German hymns from Dietrich Bonhoeffer all the way back to Luther.
What made it a special experience is that as usual we sang them in the original German. Full music and words were provided.
The evening provided a rare opportunity to sing these wonderful pieces in their original language in an eighteenth century German chapel in the heart of London.
The choir sang a chorale, there was an organ recital by James Carpenter FRCO, and a short talk by this year's guest speaker, Henrike Lähnemann, Professor of Medieval German Literature at Oxford University.
